How To Connect To The Internet

Creating a Dialer in Windows 95/98
  1. Double click My Computer
  2. Double click Dial-Up Networking
  3. Double click Make New Connection icon ( Give a name to the connection you are currently creating, type ISPx Unlimited on the uppermost textbox labeled "Type a name for the computer you are dialing:")
  4. Select the modem that you will use to connect. Click Next.
  5. Enter the dial-up telephone numbers in the next window. Type 2308111 then click on the Next button.
  6. Click the Finish button.
Configuration

  1. Right Click the dialer you've created and select the Properties item on the shortcut menu that will appear.
  2. Under the General tab, uncheck the "use area code and dialing properties".
  3. Select the Server Types tab on the new window that appears.
  4. Choose PPP: Windows 95, Windows NT 3.5, Internet for the Type of Dial-up Server.
  5. Under the (Advanced Options),

         Uncheck : Log on to Network
         Check : Enable Software Compression
         Uncheck : Require Encrypted Password

  6. Under (Allowed Network Protocols),

         Uncheck : NetBEUI
         Uncheck : IPX/SPX Compatible
         Check : TCP/IP

  7. Click on the TCP/IP Settings button.
  8. Select Server assigned IP Address option.
  9. Select Server assigned Name Server Addresses option
  10. Check the Use IP header compression item. Check the Use default gateway on remote network item.
  11. Click on the OK button to close the TCP/IP Settings window and click OK again to close the ISPx Unlimited window.
  12. Right click the dialer that you created then select create shortcut. A pop-up window will appear "Windows cannot create shortcut here. Do you want the shortcut to be placed on the desktop instead?" Click Yes.
Connecting to ISPx Unlimited

  1. Double click on ISPx Unlimited dialer found on your desktop.
  2. Type in your username@unlimited and password (all letters should be in lowercase, always add"@unlimited" after your username).
  3. Click Connect

Creating a dialer in Windows 2000
  1. Click the Start button, scroll to Settings and select Network and Dial-up Connections.
  2. Click on the Make New Connection icon.
  3. Click the Next button to continue using the connection wizard to set up your connection to ISPx Unlimited.
  4. Select Dial-up to the Internet from the Network connection type window and click the Next button. The next several steps will guide you through setting up your Internet connection.
  5. Select I want to set up my connection manually... (option #3) and click the Next button.
  6. Select I connect through a phone line and a modem and click the Next button.
  7. Enter the phone number for your ISPx Unlimited dial-up connection. Type 2308111 then click the Next button to continue.
  8. Enter the username and password of your ISPx Unlimited card (Note: Always put @unlimited at the end of the username). Click the Next button to continue.
  9. Enter ISPx Unlimited as the name for the dial-up connection and click Next button.
  10. When asked if you want to set up an internet mail account, select No and click Next.
  11. Click Finish.
Configuration
  1. Right click the dialer that you created then select Properties.
  2. On the General tab uncheck the use dialing rules then go to Networking tab. On the Components checked are used by this connection", select Internet Protocol(TCP/IP) and Client for Microsoft Network.
  3. Click Internet Protocol(TCP/IP) then Properties. On the General tab, select Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically then click advanced.
  4. Use an IP header compression and use default gateway on remote network must be checked. Then click OK button, then Internet protocol(TCP/IP) window will appear then click OK again. Then the ISPx Unlimited Properties will appear, then click OK button.
  5. Right click the dialer that you created then select create shortcut. A pop up window will appear " Windows cannot create shortcut here. Do you want the shortcut to be placed on the desktop instead." Click Yes.

Making a Dialer in Windows ME

  1. Double click on My Computer and then double click on Dial-up Networking.
  2. Double click on Make New Connection
  3. In the new screen, type in a name by which you would like to refer to the connection (type ISPx Unlimited)
  4. In the same screen, select the modem that you have on the Computer if it is not automatically displayed in the drop down list and click on Next.
  5. In the new screen for the Phone number do not put anything in the Area Code text box. In the Telephone Number text box key in the dial-up numbers for ISPx Unlimited. Type 2308111 then click the Next button.
  6. In the next window click on Finish.
Configuration
  1. Right click the dialer that you've created then select Properties.

  3. On the Networking tab, Enable software compression and TCP/IP must be checked then click OK.

Check the Use default gateway on remote network item. Click on the OK button to close the TCP/IP Settings window and click OK again to close the ISPx Unlimited window.

Configuring dialer using Windows XP

  1. Right click My Network Places.
  2. Click Properties
  3. Double click Create a new connection link under Network Tasks (left pane)
  4. In New Connection wizard. Click Next button.
  5. In Network Connection type. Select Connect to the Internet option. Click Next.
  6. Select Set-up my connection manually. Click Next button.
  7. In Internet Connection, select Connect using a dial-up modem. Click Next button
  8. ISP name put ISPx Unlimited.
  9. In phone number to dial. Key in the dial-up numbers for ISPx Unlimited. Type 2308111 then click the Next button.
  10. Fill up the information including login name and password, Don’t forget to append @unlimited after the login name then click Next button.
  11. Check Add to create shortcut to Desktop then click Finish button.

Configuration

  1. Right click the dialer that you've created then select Properties.
  2. On the General tab, uncheck Use area code and dialing properties then click the Networking tab. On the Components checked are used by this connection, select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP and Client for Microsoft Network.

Configuring dialer using Mac OS 8 or Higher

Step One: CONFIGURING THE NETWORK FOR PPP

  1. First open your System Preferences. This is usually located in the dock (as shown below).
  2. Alternatively, you could go to the Apple menu and then select "System Preferences..."
  3. Once that's opened, click once on "Network".
  4. Click the Location button and select New Location fron the drop down menu.
  5. Enter a name for the location (e.g, ISPx Unlimited) and click OK.
  6. Click the Configure button and select Internal Modem from the drop down menu.
Step Two: CONFIGURING THE TCP/IP STACK
  1. Click the TCP/IP tab in the Network window.
  2. Click the Configure button and select Using PPP from the drop-down menu.
  3. Click once on the Domain Name Servers text box and enter the following: 202.81.160.6 and 202.81.160.7 (optional)
  4. Click once in the Search Domains text box and enter tri-isys.com (optional)
Step Three: CONFIGURING PPP
  1. Click the PPP tab in the Network window.
  2. Enter the name of your service provider (e.g., ISPx Unlimited) in the Service Provider field.
  3. Enter the appropriate phone number in the Telephone Number field. For example, type 2308111.
  4. Enter another dial-up number in the Alternate Number field. For example, type 2478111.
  5. Enter your username followed by “@unlimited” in the Account Name field.
  6. Enter your password in the Password field. If you want save your password, just put a check on save password box.
  7. Click the PPP Options button.
  8. Check the box labeled Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP applications. Make sure that the boxes labeled Send PPP echo packets and Use TCP header compression are both checked, and that the Use verbose logging box is not checked.
  9. Make any other configuration changes you desire and then click OK.
Step Four: Configuring Proxies
  1. Click the Proxies tab in the network window.
  2. Uncheck all the boxes.
Step Five: CONFIGURING YOUR MODEM
  1. Click the Modem tab on the network window.
  2. Click the Modem button and select your modem from the drop-down menu.
  3. Set the Sound option to On.
  4. Set the Dialing option to Tone or Pulse, depending on your phone signal, and make sure that the Wait for dial tone before dialing box is checked.
  5. Click the Save button to keep the changes you have made.
Step Six: Starting PPP
You need to follow these steps each time you want to connect to the Internet.
  1. Open the Internet Connect application, located in the Applications folder.
  2. Make sure that your ISPx Unlimited username@unlimited appears in the Name field, and that the correct phone number appears in the Telephone Number field.
  3. Enter your ISPx Unlimited password in the Password field and click the Connect button.
Note: You are connected when an IP address appears in the Status field.

Step Seven: Disconnecting from PPP
You need to follow these steps each time you wish to disconnect from the Internet and end your session
  1. Close all applications that are using the PPP connection and select Internet Connect from the Applications folder.
  2. Click the Disconnect button.
